Amazon plans press conference for September 6 Aug 23rd 2012, 19:32 By Alistair Barr SAN FRANCISCO | Thu Aug 23, 2012 3:19pm EDT SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc is planning a press conference on September 6 near Los Angeles, according to an invitation the world's largest Internet retailer sent out to the media on Thursday. The event is being held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, the invitation said. Amazon did not say what the event would be about.
